The ventilation openings should remain free. Use the laptop on a hard and flat surface, not on a blanket or pillow.
Keep the data safe
Back up important files regularly and keep your system up-to-date. Before a major procedure, make sure you have a copy of the documents.
Don't ignore overheating
If the fan is constantly running loudly or the laptop shuts down, an inspection is required. The cause may be dust, cooling or another hardware problem.
